Lamborghini Revuelto Recalled in US Over Door Safety Issue
Lamborghini has announced a voluntary recall for 27 units of its 2024 and 2025 Revuelto plug-in hybrid supercars due to a potential defect in the door support mechanism, which could lead to unexpected door closures and increase the risk of injury. The issue was identified during factory inspections when a spherical pin was found loose. Although no accidents or injuries have been reported, authorized dealers will inspect and rectify the problem at no cost. Vehicles manufactured after June 26, 2025, have been fixed.
Lamborghini Revuelto Recalled in U.S Over Door Safety Issue
Automobili Lamborghini has issued a voluntary recall in US for 27 units of its 2024 and 2025 Revuelto plug-in hybrid supercars that were produced between December 20, 2023 and February 18, 2025 due to a possible defect with the door support mechanism. The issue could cause the doors to close unexpectedly, posing an injury risk.
According to the report filed by Lamborghini to NHTSA said, they have determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may arise in some MY 2024 and MY 2025 Revuelto vehicles. The spherical pin that supports the door gas springs, allowing the doors to open and remain in the open position, may not have been assembled according to manufacturing specifications and could come loose.
The issue came into light when in June 2025, During final factory inspections, Lamborghini detected a vehicle where the spherical pin had come loose. The company launched an internal investigation to determine whether the issue was isolated or part of a broader problem. In July 2025, The matter was presented to Lamborghini’s Product Safety Committee. The committee determined that, given the absence of documented torque values for some affected cars, a safety risk could not be ruled out. Then the recall was announced.
If the supporting pins detach, the doors may close under their own weight, posing a potential risk of injury to users. This issue could also make it difficult to open the doors, particularly from inside the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in an emergency.
So far, Lamborghini has not received any reports of crashes, injuries, or customer complaints related to this problem. One vehicle showed signs of low torque on the affected component, leading to a full internal investigation.
To deal with the issue, Lamborghini said that their authorized dealers will inspect and tighten the spherical pins free of charge. Vehicles produced after June 26, 2025, have already been corrected at the factory using updated procedures and digital tracking tools.
