Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Baleno Get Price Hike Due to Standardization of Six Airbags
Maruti Suzuki has made six airbags a standard feature on the Ertiga and Baleno, starting July 16, 2025. This update applies to all variants of both models. As a result of the change, the Ertiga will see an average price increase of 1.4%, while the Baleno will go up by around 0.5%. At present, the Ertiga is priced between Rs 8.96 lakh and Rs 13.25 lakh, and the Baleno between Rs 6.70 lakh and Rs 9.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The move is in line with Maruti Suzuki’s plan to offer six airbags as a standard feature across its entire passenger vehicle range by the end of 2025. Other models that already offer six airbags across variants include the Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny and Invicto.
This update comes ahead of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) deadline mandating six airbags in all new passenger vehicles from October 2025. While the rule is yet to be enforced, manufacturers are updating their product lines in preparation for the regulation.
