This Luxurious Convertible Mercedes-Maybach Roadster Will Be Launched In India On March 17

German luxury and sports carmaker Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series will be unveiled in India on March 17th 2025. This is a two-door convertible luxury coupe which was first introduced globally back in August 2024. It is also the sportiest Maybach model to date. The SL 680 is based on the company's iconic SL Roadster but it comes with notable design, comfort and performance changes.

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 boasts the aggressive styling of the regular SL which has been enhanced with Maybach's luxury. At the front it features an illuminated grille with vertical slats, complemented by chrome accents and a less aggressive bumper design. The bonnet, finished in Obsidian Black and adorned with Maybach logos, contrasts with the car’s colour scheme.

Moving to the sides it sports Maybach multi-spoke alloy wheels and black-finished wing mirrors enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal. At the rear it gets a sporty aggression with a smoother bumper featuring chrome accents.

On the inside the SL 680 is curated to bespoke luxury. It gets white Nappa leather upholstery, a satin silver finish on the AC vents and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The roll hoops are emblazoned with Maybach logos. The digital interfaces feature Maybach-specific graphics, adding to the bespoke experience.

Under the hood, the Maybach SL 680 houses a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine which churns out 585 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed AT. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds. The suspension system in the Maybach SL has also been revised for superior comfort and the company has incorporated additional sound-deadening materials to further enhance cabin refinement. It also gets a noise-optimised exhaust system which further contributes to a quieter driving experience.

The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series will compete in a niche luxury performance segment, with the likes of Bentley Continental GT Convertible, Maserati GranCabrio and more luxury convertibles. The pricing of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 hasn’t been announced yet but it is expected to be introduced with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 4 crore.
