Italian automaker Ferrari has revealed its plans to introduce its first ever EV (Electric Vehicle) on October 9th 2025 at its Capital Markets Day. This new electric car from Ferrari will be among the six new models the Italian automaker plans to launch this year, as confirmed by CEO Benedetto Vigna while presenting Ferrari's 2024 financial results.

Ferrari EV

This upcoming electric car, informally referred to as the "elettrica," marks Ferrari's entry into the zero-emission EV market. Prototypes of the same have been spotted near the company's headquarters in Maranello suggesting that the vehicle might be a high-riding model, potentially resembling the Purosangue SUV or a crossover. The disguised test mules spotted testing under heavy camouflage sported Maserati Levante bodies and Roma-style headlights, hinting at the design philosophy.
Ferrari has filed patents for EV technologies, including a three-motor powertrain and systems to replicate the signature engine sounds that distinguish its internal combustion vehicles. The EV will feature components like electric motors, inverters and batteries developed in-house at Ferrari’s new e-building facility, which began operations in 2024.
The company stated that it is aiming to deliver a vehicle that blends performance, design and driving excitement, elements that Ferrari enthusiasts expect. While official specifications remain under wraps, the starting price for the EV is rumored to exceed €5,00,000 (approx. $5,18,000). Ferrari may introduce an extended warranty program covering battery replacements, addressing potential concerns about long-term reliability.
The plans for an EV were revealed while sharing the financial updates for last year. In 2024, Ferrari reported a 21 percent increase in net profit, reaching €1.53 billion, with revenue rising by 12 percent to €6.7 billion. Deliveries increased marginally to 13,752 units. The company anticipates further growth in 2025, projecting €2.68 billion in earnings, aided by the launch of six new vehicles.

Future Of Ferrari

The company outlined that it remains committed to its electrification strategy, with plans for EVs and plug-in hybrid models expected to account for 60 percent of its sales by 2026. The upcoming EV represents a pivotal step in this transition, showcasing Ferrari's ability to adapt to evolving market demands while preserving its brand identity.
