Japanese automaker Honda has introduced the GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT models at the Auto Shanghai 2025 event. These are the second set of models under the Ye Series, a battery electric vehicle lineup developed for the Chinese market.
Introduction Of GAC Honda GT & Dongfeng Honda GT
The GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT have been developed as new entries in the Ye Series. Both models feature a low and wide body structure. Each vehicle presents a different exterior form based on the design direction of the respective joint ventures.
The interiors are arranged to separate the space for the driver and the front passenger. The driver’s area is configured to focus on operation of the vehicle. The passenger side includes a display that enables visual content to be viewed at a distance.
Development Strategy For Ye Series
At the event, Honda also shared its approach for the continued development of the Ye Series. The company will use local technologies in China to produce new models. This includes adapting to developments in electrification and software-based vehicle functions.
Collaboration With Momenta
Honda has entered into a collaboration with Momenta Global Limited, a company based in China. The objective is to co-develop driver assistance systems that do not use high-definition maps. The system will operate based on the destination input in the vehicle's navigation.
