Indofast And Motovolt Join Hands For Electric Scooter Battery Swapping To Accelerate EV Adoption
Indofast Energy, a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation and Sun Mobility, has partnered with Motovolt Mobility to launch the MVS7 electric scooter, which features battery swapping capabilities. This collaboration aims to tackle range anxiety and ownership costs by utilizing Indofast's battery swapping network. The MVS7, equipped with a 2.5 kW motor and a top speed of 50 kmph, is designed for both B2B and B2C markets, targeting sales of 25,000 units in the next year. The initiative includes a lifetime battery warranty to enhance user experience.

EV solution startup, Indofast Energy, a joint venture (JV) between Indian Oil Corporation and Sun Mobility, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with EV startup Motovolt Mobility. Sharing this update the company stated that the agreement between these companies focuses on rolling out the MVS7 electric scooter with battery swapping capability compatible with EV battery swapping network of Indofast.

Battery Swapping Model
The partnership will use Indofast’s battery swapping network with the MVS7 scooter to address range limitations and battery ownership costs. Under the Battery as a Service model, the battery cost is separated from the vehicle purchase.
MVS7 Electric Scooter
The MVS7 electric scooter has a BLDC motor with a peak power of 2.5 kW and torque output of 120 Nm. It has a top speed of 50 kmph and can travel 80-85 km per charge. The scooter includes five riding modes: Eco, Power, Sport, Reverse, and Cruise. It has a double-cradle steel frame, 150 litres of open storage, and a payload capacity of 150 kg.
Market Plans
Motovolt plans to expand its dealership network in cities such as Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The companies aim to sell approximately 20,000 units of the MVS7 to the B2B sector and 5,000 units to the B2C segment in the next 12 months.
Battery Warranty
The initiative will include a lifetime battery warranty for users to reduce battery-related operational costs.

Our QIS battery swapping network will ensure Motovolt MVS7 users experience uninterrupted journeys and unparalleled vehicle uptime, driving their economic prosperity.”
