Ola Electric Registers Over 23,000 Unit Sales In March 2025

Ola Electric reported 23,430 unit registrations in March 2025, citing positive customer response and increased Gen 3 production. This follows a reported 25,000 units in February, contrasting with VAHAN portal data showing 8,647 units, a year-on-year decline. Ola attributed the discrepancy to a temporary registration backlog from a shift to in-house processing, stating improvement and expecting resolution by March end.

Indian electric automaker, Ola Electric recently announced that it has registered 23,430 units in March 2025 (as per the VAHAN portal) across the rural and urban markets in India.
As per the company, the customer response has been positive. Furthermore, Ola Electric added that it ramped up the production of its Gen 3 portfolio in March with the intention of continuing ramping it up further in April leading to faster deliveries and better customer experience.
“We remain focused on execution and delivering a seamless ownership experience. We will continue to update stakeholders as our registration volumes stabilise,” a spokesperson from Ola, said.
This comes on the back of Ola Electric registering the sale of 25,000 units in February and reaching a market share of over 28%. While the company stated that it had achieved the sales milestone on the back of S1 portfolio and sales-and-service network of 4,000 stores across the country, the Vahan portal data suggested that the Indian electric automaker had sold only 8,647 units in February, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 74.6%, compared to 34,063 units sold in February 2024.
To this, Ola Electric stated that the temporary backlog in vehicle registrations was due to ongoing negotiations with vendors responsible for handling the process. The company claims that daily registrations had surpassed 50% of its three-month daily sales average and that 40% of the backlog has been cleared. The company expects the remaining backlog to be resolved by the end of March 2025.
The company has provided a clarification for the same stating that the shift to in-house vehicle registrations in February led to temporary disruptions. While the transition continues, daily registration volumes and backlog clearance continue to improve.
