Renault And Software Republique Unveil Connected Emergency Vehicle Prototype Based On Renault 4 E-Tech

Renault and Software Republique have jointly developed Vision 4rescue, a prototype emergency vehicle equipped with a connected ecosystem designed to assist fire and rescue teams in the field. The demo unit is based on the Renault 4 E-Tech electric platform and features nearly 20 integrated tools to support real-time operations.

Renault , in collaboration with Software Republique, a consortium of French companies focused on mobility technologies, has introduced a new emergency services vehicle concept. Called 'Vision 4rescue', the fully functioning demo-car is built on the Renault 4 E-Tech electric platform and developed with input from fire services in several countries. The vehicle is designed to assist first responders in operational environments, including difficult terrains. The project builds on Renault’s earlier partnerships with emergency response teams in 19 countries over the past 15 years.

Integrated Solutions for Field Coordination

The Vision 4rescue prototype includes almost 20 interconnected tools aimed at improving coordination and response times in emergencies. These include a command interface, surveillance drone, and communication systems designed to function even in network outages.
At the rear of the vehicle, a fold-out work station with screens and computing equipment enables on-site management of rescue operations. Roof-mounted equipment supports drone control and mobile communication.

Purpose-Built Exterior and Interior

The vehicle’s exterior includes raised suspension, all-wheel drive via a second electric motor on the rear axle, reinforced bumpers and external signage referencing fire and rescue services. Fluorescent markings, drone storage and LED light strips are integrated into the design.
On the inside, the dashboard features additional safety elements such as a reflective rear door indicator and mountings for communication gear. Seats are made from recycled fire-resistant materials, including foam from used firefighter suits. The boot area includes storage for helmets, electronics and other mission-specific tools.

Collaborative Development

The prototype reflects collaborative development between Renault and Software République, which includes multiple French firms specializing in security, mobility and energy systems. The goal was to standardize fragmented emergency service technologies into a single mobile unit capable of supporting varied operations.
