VinFast Inaugurates EV Production Facility In Ha Tinh, Vietnam

The plant covers an area of 3,60,000 square meters. It has a designed production capacity of 2,00,000 vehicles per year with an average output of 35 vehicles per hour.

The facility includes a body welding shop, painting shop, general assembly shop, logistics warehouse, and quality control center. An auxiliary cluster of 2,40,000 square meters is under construction for future expansion.

In its initial phase, the plant will produce compact urban electric vehicle models such as the VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van, and other upcoming models. This facility will supply both domestic and international markets.

The Ha Tinh facility makes use of production lines from ABB, DURR, FANUC, and SIEMENS. Its manufacturing processes follow ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards.

This plant is expected to create around 6,000 direct jobs initially, with a potential workforce expansion to 15,000. The company plans to achieve over 80 percent localisation in electric vehicle production by 2026 through support from auxiliary partners in the industrial zone.

In the first five months of 2025, VinFast delivered over 56,000 vehicles, becoming the top-selling auto brand in Vietnam. Models VF 3, VF 5, and VF 6 were among the bestsellers. The company is also expanding its presence in the Philippines and Indonesia.

VinFast has five manufacturing facilities in development across Vietnam, the United States, India, and Indonesia. Along with the operational Hải Phong and Ha Tinh plants in Vietnam, facilities in India and Indonesia are expected to be inaugurated soon.
