Zuperia Auto Introduces 'Youdha' Brand Aimed At Utility EV Users In India

Zuperia Auto, previously known as Lohia Auto, has introduced a new electric vehicle brand called ‘Youdha’. The move comes as part of a broader company strategy to focus on functional electric mobility solutions for delivery, waste collection and small business operations. This announcement was made during a company interaction in early May 2025.

Shift from Lohia Auto to Zuperia Auto

The company said the transition from Lohia Auto to Zuperia Auto represents a change in approach. According to CEO Ayush Lohia, the new name allows the company to expand beyond traditional offerings and cater to sectors like cargo handling, sanitation services and last-mile delivery. The rebranding is aimed at tapping new markets and increasing scalability.

Purpose Behind the Youdha Brand

Youdha has been developed specifically for users who depend on electric three-wheelers for their livelihood, including delivery personnel, e-rickshaw operators and small traders. The brand name is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning "warrior". Zuperia says the goal is to offer vehicles suited for practical, everyday use in the working segment.

Design and Utility Orientation

The Youdha brand features a logo designed with a three-wheeler silhouette, a charging symbol and a shield motif. The company said this is meant to represent the functionality and purpose of the vehicle. Unlike other brands focusing solely on specifications, Zuperia stated that the goal is to address practical needs of the working population.

Current Operations and Scale

Zuperia Auto’s main production unit is located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, with an annual capacity of more than 100,000 vehicles. The company currently operates through over 120 dealerships across India. It has also completed deployments of electric garbage collection vehicles in Delhi-NCR and Andhra Pradesh. One of its government contracts includes supplying 40 EVs to Delhi’s DSIIDC, now operating in the Bawana Industrial Area.

Position in a Competitive Segment

The electric cargo and waste collection vehicle sector in India has seen significant growth, particularly in 2024, with cargo EVs growing by 45% year-on-year. Zuperia aims to serve this segment through a two-brand strategy—Youdha for cost-effective models and Lohia for premium options. The company also emphasises its after-sales network and parts availability as key support areas.
