Zuperia Auto Private Limited has announced a shift in focus towards electric vehicles used for cargo transport and waste collection. The company has launched a new brand, Youdha, while continuing with the Lohia name for its earlier vehicle categories.

Rise in Commercial EV Use

The electric three-wheeler category in India recorded around 694,466 units sold in 2024. This marks an 18 percent increase from the previous year. Within this, the cargo segment grew by 45 percent. This growth is linked to increasing use of vehicles for delivery and transport by businesses.

Government Order and Deployment

Zuperia Auto has delivered electric waste vehicles in Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. It has also received an order from the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) to supply 40 electric garbage vehicles for use in the Bawana Industrial Area.

Manufacturing and New Products

The company is increasing production at its facility in Kashipur. It is also preparing to release new electric cargo and loader vehicles under the Youdha brand. These will be used for goods movement and waste collection in various locations.
Ayush Lohia, CEO of Zuperia Auto, said, "The real opportunity in the EV space lies beyond the personal mobility segment, With increasing restrictions on diesel-run vehicles in cities and growing pressure on municipalities to adopt clean mobility solutions, the cargo and garbage vehicle segments are emerging as key focus areas. Our institutional sales pipeline has never looked stronger. Zuperia Auto is uniquely positioned with in-house R&D, dedicated manufacturing, and the ability to customize vehicles for institutional needs.

Market Trends and Policies

Government policies continue to support electric vehicle use. Electric three-wheelers are also being adopted due to lower operating costs. The cargo and utility electric vehicle market was around 93,000 units in FY25 and is expected to cross 150,000 units in the next few years.
