New Maruti Dzire vs Rivals
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Dzire at an introductory starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The new-gen model features tons of changes over the old Dzire, including major styling updates, a range of new features and safety tech, as well as a new engine. What hasn't changed is the fact that it continues to rival Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the market. Here's how the new Maruti Dzire goes up against all its rivals on paper.

The New Maruti Suzuki Dzire measures 3995mm in length, 1735mm in width, stands 1525mm tall, has a 2450mm long wheelbase and offers 382 litres of boot space. The Dzire is the widest offering here, while the Tigor is the tallest at 1532mm. The Amaze's 2470mm long wheelbase is 20mm longer than all its rivals here, while its 420 litres of boot space is also the best in class. Powering the new Dzire is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine that makes 82bhp and 112Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual along with an optional 5-speed AMT. The Honda Amaze's 1.2-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol motor makes 89bhp and 110Nm and is available with a 5MT or an optional CVT. Similar to Dzire, the Tigor also gets a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder unit, but it produces 85bhp and 113Nm torque. The Aura's 1.2-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine is rated at 82bhp/114Nm. Just like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor also get a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 5-speed AMT. Moreover, the Dzire, Aura and Tigor also offer an optional factory-fit CNG kit. While the Dzire CNG and Aura CNG are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, the Tigor CNG also gets an optional AMT gearbox. The Tigor CNG also benefits from the twin-cylinder technology that opens up more boot space as compared to rivals with a larger single CNG tank.

While all four sedans are fairly evenly packed, the Dzire edges ahead with its first-in-class electric sunroof, as well as its 9-inch touchscreen - which is the largest in the segment. The Dzire also gets a 360-degree camera over its rivals. On the safety front, Dzire and Aura are equipped with six airbags as standard, while the Amaze and Tigor make do with two frontal airbags, even on the higher variants.
