Maruti Suzuki has revealed the new Dzire in all its glory ahead of its launch on November 11. With only prices yet to be revealed, we already know that the new-gen Dzire is a big step up from the outgoing model on the styling and equipment front, while the powertrain is also new. Here are the top 5 changes on the new Maruti Dzire over the old Dzire.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Old Dzire: Design, Dimensions

The New Maruti Dzire features a big change on the styling front, which helps it further distinguish itself from the Swift now. The Dzire gets a large grille up front, flanked by sharp-looking rectangular LED headlamps on either side. The fog lamp housings are redesigned, while there's also a new chunky gloss black trim connecting the headlamps, with a chrome strip at the bottom.
The tail lamps feature a Y-shaped LED signature, while the rear bumper is also slightly more accentuated. Moreover, the new Dzire also gets a new design for the alloy wheels. All in all, the compact sedan looks much more mature than the outgoing model.
Size, however, is still largely unchanged. The new Dzire has the same length, width, tyre size and wheelbase as its predecessor. The boot space is up by just 5 litres to 382 litres, while the new Dzire is also 10mm taller than the outgoing model.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Old Dzire: Interior, Features

On the inside, the Maruti Dzire gets a completely redesigned cabin that has been carried over from the new Swift. It gets a redesigned dashboard with a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new HVAC controls, AC vents positioned under the touchscreen and a revised centre console. The dual-tone beige-and-black theme has been carried over.

On the feature front, the new Dzire adds new features such as a segment-first electric sunroof, a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Arkamys Surround Sense audio. Features like cruise control, auto climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs have been carried over.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Old Dzire: SafetyWhile the old Dzire was available with dual frontal airbags, the new Dzire gets six airbags as standard across the range. It now also gets a 360-degree camera as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system. ESP, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchor points are all standard.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Old Dzire: Engine, Gearbox, MileageThe new Dzire is equipped with Maruti's new Z Series 1.2L, three-cylinder engine that made its debut on the new Swift earlier this year. This engine makes 81bhp and 112Nm torque, which is 8bhp and 1Nm lower than the outgoing four-cylinder engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, while there's also an optional 5-speed AMT, just like before. There's also a CNG option which gets a 5-speed MT only.
The new engine returns a claimed 24.79kpl with the manual gearbox and 25.71kpl with the AMT - which is higher than the 22.41kpl and 22.61kpl figures of the outgoing model respectively. The CNG's claimed mileage figure is rated at 33.73km/kg, which is up from 31.12km/kg seen on the outgoing model.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Old Dzire: PricePricing for the Maruti Dzire is yet to be revealed, however, we expect it to carry a slight premium over the previous-gen Dzire owing to all the aforementioned changes. The outgoing model was last priced from Rs 6.57 lakh to Rs 9.34 lakh (ex-showroom).
