Skoda Auto India has officially confirmed that the 2026
Slavia facelift will be launched on August 18. This is the first major update for the premium sedan since it was introduced.
The facelift is expected to bring refreshed styling, new features and an important transmission upgrade for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Design changes are expected to be inspired by the updated Kushaq, with a revised front-end and other subtle cosmetic updates. While the overall shape of the sedan will remain the same, the refreshed Slavia is expected to look more modern.
2. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
Mahindra is expected to unveil the Scorpio N facelift on August 15, continuing its tradition of making major announcements around Independence Day. Several leaked images have already revealed both the exterior and interior of the SUV.
On the outside, changes are expected to be minimal, with new alloy wheels and possibly a new paint shade joining the existing colour options. Mahindra is likely to retain the Scorpio N's bold and rugged design. The biggest updates are expected inside the cabin, where leaked images suggest a redesigned dashboard with a cleaner and more premium look.
Yamaha is expected to launch its new YZF-R2 in India in August. The upcoming motorcycle will sit above the popular YZF-R15 and will be aimed at riders looking for more performance. While Yamaha has not revealed official specifications yet, the R2 is expected to feature a larger engine than the R15.
For comparison, the R15 produces 18.4bhp and 14.5Nm, while the R2 is likely to deliver around 25bhp and 20Nm, making it a more powerful entry-level supersport motorcycle.
4. New MG SUV (PHEV & EV)
JSW MG Motor India is also expected to make a major announcement in August with the introduction of a new three-row family SUV. The upcoming model, based on the company's new ADAPT platform, will be the India-spec version of the MG Starlight 560 sold in global markets. It is expected to be offered with both electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.
The electric version is likely to feature a 69kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor, offering a claimed driving range of up to 600km. The plug-in hybrid variant is expected to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery pack. This setup is expected to produce 197bhp and 230Nm, while delivering an electric-only range of 100km and a claimed combined driving range of up to 1,100km.
Ather Energy is expected to launch the new EL electric scooter towards the end of August. The upcoming model is likely to be positioned below the Ather 450 range, making it the brand's more affordable electric scooter.
While details about its battery pack, motor and claimed range are yet to be revealed, the EL is expected to help Ather reach a wider audience in the growing electric scooter segment.
