2026 Volvo EX30 Updated Globally With New 148bhp Entry Variant

For the 2026 model year, Volvo has added a new single-motor rear-wheel-drive powertrain to the EX30 lineup. The new variant produces 148bhp and is paired with a 51kWh battery pack. Volvo claims a driving range of up to 339km on a full charge.

Buyers can also opt for a larger 69kWh battery pack, which delivers a claimed range of up to 476km. The addition of the smaller battery option is expected to lower the entry price of the EX30 in select markets.

The Volvo EX30 is now hardware-ready for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. This system allows the vehicle’s battery to supply power to external electrical devices using a compatible adapter.

Owners will be able to use the car to charge devices such as electric bicycles or power appliances including tools and camping equipment. The V2L feature will initially be introduced in selected markets.

Volvo has revised the EX30’s user interface. The updated system includes a redesigned settings and controls layout aimed at improving access to key functions.

A new customizable content bar allows drivers to select shortcuts based on their usage preferences. Volvo has stated that the new UX system and V2L functionality will be rolled out through over-the-air updates during summer 2026 for both new and existing EX30 customers, depending on market availability.

The 2026 EX30 introduces two additional interior themes.

The EX30 Black Edition is now available with the new Black interior. Exterior colour options for the Black Edition include Onyx Black, Vapour Grey and Crystal White.
