BMW F 450 GS India Launch on April 23: Here’s What To Expect

BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the F 450 GS will debut in India on April 23, 2026. The motorcycle will be manufactured at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility and marks the introduction of a new twin-cylinder platform for the brand in the country.
The F 450 GS was previously showcased in concept form at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025. The upcoming debut will bring the production-spec version to India.

BMW F 450 GS: Design

The F 450 GS is based on a new mid-capacity platform and moves away from the single-cylinder setup seen on the G 310 GS. This platform is expected to underpin multiple future models, including roadsters and faired motorcycles. It will also serve as the entry point into BMW Motorrad’s twin-cylinder GS lineup. The design follows BMW’s GS styling with a beak-style front, upright stance and exposed frame sections. The motorcycle will be offered with multiple seat options, including split and rally configurations. Globally, the model is available in Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy variants. The final variant lineup for India will be confirmed at launch.

BMW F 450 GS: Engine

Power comes from a 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine rated at 47.34bhp and 43.38Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The motorcycle uses upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. It rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup with dual-purpose tyres. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by ABS and traction control.

BMW F 450 GS: Features

The F 450 GS is expected to get a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. It will also offer multiple riding modes, traction control and switchable ABS.
Additional equipment is likely to include a quickshifter system and low-speed clutch assist. Seat height options are expected to range between 835mm and 860mm depending on configuration.

BMW F 450 GS: Expected Price & Rivals

The BMW F 450 GS is expected to be introduced in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 5 lakh Rs 6 lakh. Once launched, it will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Triumph Tiger 400 X and Honda NX500 in the Indian market.
