BYD India Announces Price Hike of up to 2 Percent, Effective from July 2026

The Indian division of the Chinese automaker BYD has announced a price hike for its entire model range in the country. Sharing this update the automaker outlined that this price hike will come into effect from July 1st 2026. BYD India has stated prices of its entire model range in India will undergo a price hike of 1 to 2 percent, depending on the model and variant. The automaker has cited sustained foreign exchange fluctuations as the primary reason behind this price hike.

The revised prices will be applicable to BYD’s entire product lineup in India which includes - Atto 3, Seal, eMAX 7 and Sealion 7. BYD is a global new energy vehicle (NEV) automaker which currently only offers electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. This move will impact customers looking for green and clean mobility options with zero tailpipe emissions.

The information shared by the company highlights that, customers planning to purchase a BYD EV before the revision comes into effect can still avail of current prices if bookings are made during May and June, provided deliveries are taken on or before July 31st 2026. With bookings made from July 1st onwards will attract the updated pricing. This also marks the second price hike by BYD India in 2026. Earlier this year, the company increased the price of the base variant of the Sealion 7 while prices of the remaining variants and models remained unchanged.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said, “This price revision is in lieu of foreign exchange fluctuations. Even in a challenging market environment, BYD India remains focused on delivering high-value, advanced, safe, and premium electric mobility solutions to customers. We continue to see strong market demand for products such as the BYD ATTO 3 and the BYD SEALION 7, reflecting growing confidence in premium electric mobility among Indian consumers.”
