Ducati Monster V2 Launched In India at Rs 13.99 Lakh: What’s New?
The new 2026 Ducati Monster arrives in India with a completely redesigned chassis, a new-generation V2 engine, updated electronics and a sharper design.
Key Highlights:
- 2026 Ducati Monster launched in India in standard Monster and Monster+ versions.
- Gets a new 112.54bhp Ducati V2 engine with a 45,000 km valve-clearance service interval.
- The new Monster weighs just 175 kg, making it lighter and more agile than before.
- Prices for the new Monster and Monster+ are yet to be mentioned in the provided information.
The new Monster gets the brand's latest V2 engine, which is lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione unit. The motorcycle also features a revised fuel tank, new LED headlight and updated bodywork inspired by the original Monster.
The seat height has been reduced to 815mm, while the seat itself is narrower to make it easier for riders to put their feet on the ground.
Ducati Monster V2: Engine
Powering the new Monster is Ducati's latest V2 twin-cylinder engine. The motor produces 112.54bhp at 9,000 rpm and uses IVT (Intake Variable Timing) technology to improve power delivery across the rev range.
Ducati says more than 80% of the engine's maximum torque is available between 4,000 rpm and 10,000 rpm. The engine is also 5.9 kg lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione unit.
One of the biggest highlights is its maintenance schedule. The valve-clearance inspection interval has been extended to 45,000 km, which Ducati claims is a benchmark for the segment.
The new Monster uses a monocoque frame with the V2 engine serving as a stressed member of the chassis. It is paired with a double-sided swingarm and a rear subframe made from technopolymer and trellis elements.
The motorcycle weighs 175 kg with an empty fuel tank, making it 4 kg lighter than the previous-generation model.
Suspension duties are handled by 43mm Showa upside-down forks at the front and a Showa monoshock at the rear. Ducati says the suspension has been tuned to offer a balance between everyday comfort and sporty handling.
Brembo Brakes and Pirelli Tyres
Braking hardware includes twin 320mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 radial calipers and dedicated brake pads. The system is designed to offer strong braking performance while maintaining a manageable response in everyday riding conditions.
The new Monster rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, measuring 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear.
Four Riding Modes and Advanced Electronics
Ducati has equipped the new Monster with four Riding Modes designed for different riding conditions. Sport mode is aimed at riders looking for a more aggressive experience, while Road and Urban modes are designed to make the motorcycle easier to ride in everyday conditions.
The electronics package includes Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and cornering ABS.
The motorcycle gets a new petal-shaped joystick for controlling the functions, along with a 5-inch TFT display. The display supports Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation.
Updated Monster Design
While the new Monster features a more modern appearance, Ducati has retained several design cues from the original motorcycle.
The signature 'bison-back' fuel tank has been redesigned to give the motorcycle a slimmer profile while bringing back some of the muscularity associated with earlier Monster models.
The new full-LED headlight features a modern design, while the side panels flow into the narrower seat. Ducati has also incorporated the coordinates of its historic Borgo Panigale factory alongside the Ducati shield on the bodywork.
Ducati Monster Accessories
Ducati Performance offers several accessories for customers looking to customise the new Monster. These include carbon-fibre components, billet aluminium parts and a sports seat with Alcantara upholstery.
For riders looking for a sportier exhaust note and reduced weight, Ducati also offers homologated Termignoni silencers with titanium liners and carbon-fibre end caps.
