Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera Centenario Makes Global Debut
Ducati has unveiled the Panigale V4 Superleggera Centenario, a limited-production model developed to mark the company’s 100-year milestone. Based on the Superleggera platform, the Centenario brings revisions to weight, engine performance and chassis components.
The motorcycle uses carbon fibre across multiple structural elements, including the frame, swingarm, subframe and wheels. According to Ducati, this results in a weight reduction of around 17 percent over the standard Panigale V4. In track configuration, the Superleggera Centenario weighs approximately 167 kg (wet, without fuel).
It is powered by a 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine. In standard road-legal form, the engine produces 225bhp. With the optional track kit, which includes an Akrapovic exhaust, Ducati Corse Performance oil and a carbon fibre dry clutch, output increases to 244bhp. The engine features lightweight internals such as titanium valves and connecting rods, along with revisions to its geometry and desmodromic timing.
The gearbox has been updated with a neutral lock system aimed at preventing unintended shifts into neutral during aggressive downshifts. The automaker has also utilised Titanium fasteners in the motorcycle for weight reduction and even the engine is lighter than the standard version.
Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs, marking a first for a road-legal motorcycle. The front setup uses 340 mm rotors designed for consistent performance under high temperatures. Suspension duties are managed by Öhlins NPX 25/30 front forks with carbon fibre sleeves and a TTX36 GP rear shock.
The aerodynamic package includes carbon fibre winglets and side panels derived from Ducati’s racing programme. These components are designed to improve stability and generate downforce during high-speed riding and cornering.
The electronics package includes traction control, wheelie control, slide control, launch control, cornering ABS, engine brake control and Ducati Quickshifter 2.0. Multiple riding and power modes are also available.
Ducati will produce 500 units in the Centenario livery and an additional 100 units in a Tricolore edition. Each unit will be delivered with a track kit, paddock stands, battery charger, certificate of authenticity and a matching helmet.
