The Indian two-wheeler division of the Japanese automaker Honda , also popularly known as Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for its Rebel 500 motorcycle in the country. The details shared by the company outlines that this recall affects 96 units of the Rebels 500 model manufactured between April-August 2025.

Why is The Honda Rebel 500 Recalled in India?

The recall is related to the handle-lock fixing screw on the Honda Rebel 500. Due to a possible assembly issue, the screw may not have been tightened according to the specified torque.
If the screw becomes loose, it could interfere with the movement of the steering. Honda is carrying out the recall as a precautionary measure and will replace the affected screw on the motorcycles covered under the campaign. Sharing this update the automaker stated that the replacement will be carried out free of cost, irrespective of the warranty status of the motorcycle.

Honda Rebel 500 Recall: When Will The Campaign Start?

The recall campaign is scheduled to begin in the first week of November 2026 through Honda's authorised BigWing dealerships. According to Honda the owners of affected motorcycles will be contacted by Honda through phone calls, SMS or email. The company will coordinate with customers and schedule appointments for the replacement.
