Hyundai Bayon: Design
The Bayon features a split lighting setup at the front. A slim horizontal LED element is positioned higher up on the face and could also function as a turn indicator. A separate vertical lighting unit is placed towards the outer edges of the front fascia.
Hyundai has not yet revealed the complete front-end design. Details such as the grille and lower bumper are expected to be shown at a later stage.
Hyundai Bayon: Design Sketch
Earlier design sketches suggest that the SUV will feature a sculpted bonnet, wide fenders, sharp body lines and chunky lower sections. The design follows Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” theme, which the company says gives the SUV a strong and modern appearance.
The latest teaser follows several sightings of test versions of the Bayon in India. These spy images have already revealed some details about the SUV’s equipment.
The test vehicles have been seen with a radar module at the front, suggesting that the Bayon could offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Cameras associated with a 360-degree camera setup have also been spotted.
Other details seen on the test models include new alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends, a rear camera and parking sensors. The rear is also expected to get split-type lighting, although Hyundai has not officially revealed the production-spec rear design yet.
Hyundai Bayon: Interior and Expected Features
Hyundai Bayon: Interior Design Sketch
Hyundai has previously released an interior sketch of the Bayon, showing the dashboard layout, steering wheel and digital displays. Reports based on test vehicles suggest that the SUV could feature twin 12.3-inch screens. Other expected equipment includes connected car technology, ADAS and a 360-degree camera. However, Hyundai is yet to confirm the complete feature list and variant-wise equipment for the India-spec model.
Hyundai Bayon: Powertrain Options
Hyundai has not officially revealed the Bayon’s engine specifications for India. Reports suggest that the SUV could be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with both manual and automatic transmission options. A factory-fitted CNG version has also been reported, with the CNG tank expected to be positioned underneath the floor. If introduced, the CNG variant could give the Bayon a more economical powertrain option.
The upcoming SUV is expected to sit below the Hyundai Creta in the company’s India line-up. Reports suggest that it could measure around 4.18 metres in length, putting it in the midsize SUV space.
Hyundai has not yet announced the launch date, prices or complete specifications of the India-spec Bayon. More details are expected to be revealed closer to its market introduction.
