2027 Ford F-150 Pickup Unveiled Globally: Gets New 3.0-Litre Engine and Carhartt Package

Ford has given its popular F-150 pickup truck several updates for the 2027 model year. The biggest change is under the bonnet, with the pickup getting a new 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 as its base engine. Ford has also expanded the availability of its 5.0-litre V8 and introduced a new Carhartt package.

The 2027 Ford F-150 replaces the earlier 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 with a larger 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6. Despite the increase in displacement, the engine produces the same 325hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. According to Ford chief programme engineer Kelly Kohlstrand, the larger engine is aimed at delivering a better everyday driving experience. The 3.0-litre unit shares its core architecture with the outgoing 2.7-litre engine.

The rest of the F-150 powertrain range remains unchanged. The 3.5-litre EcoBoost and 3.5-litre PowerBoost hybrid continue to be offered, with the latter producing 425 hp and 570 lb-ft (773 Nm) of torque. The performance-focused F-150 Raptor will continue with the high-output 3.5-litre EcoBoost, while the Raptor R gets its supercharged 5.2-litre V8.

5.0-litre V8 Now Available Across The Lineup

Ford has also expanded the availability of the 400-hp 5.0-litre V8 for 2027. The engine can now be specified with the King Ranch and Platinum trims. This means the V8 is available across the F-150 range, starting from the XL and going up to the Platinum.

Ford has made some styling changes to the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum variants. These versions get redesigned grilles featuring a wider split-bar design. The new styling theme is also carried over to the wheel designs, giving the updated F-150 a slightly different appearance from the outgoing model.

Ford and Carhartt have expanded their collaboration from the Super Duty to the F-150. The 2027 F-150 Carhartt Package is available on 4x4 XLT Crew Cab models. Priced at $4,195, the package adds unique anodised wheels and exterior trim, Carhartt graphics and a branded spray-in bedliner.

Inside, the pickup gets a two-tone cabin with seats featuring Carhartt logo embroidery. The logo also appears on the rear map pockets, while the steering wheel and door panels get special accent stitching. The full-colour Carhartt logo is also featured on the engine.

Orders for the F-150 Carhartt are already open, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
