Kia is set to launch the Sorento in India on September 4, with the SUV recently spotted undisguised on public roads. The three-row vehicle will feature both petrol-hybrid and diesel powertrains.

Kia is gearing up to introduce the Sorento in India, and the upcoming three-row SUV has now been spotted completely undisguised on public roads. The latest sighting gives a clear look at its exterior design ahead of its official launch on September 4. Kia has already revealed images of the SUV, while bookings and production have also commenced.

The video provides a clear look at both the front and rear sections of the SUV. It gets a boxy silhouette with a premium design, while the matte grey or black finish seen in the video gives it a more understated appearance.
Kia Sorento: Exterior Design
At the front, the Sorento features a large three-dimensional Tiger Nose grille with a brushed-aluminium outline. The grille is flanked by vertically positioned Star Map LED DRLs, while the LED headlamps are arranged vertically.
The SUV also gets horizontal dual-function LED turn indicators, brushed-aluminium elements on the fenders, roof rails and a shark-fin antenna. Other highlights include dual-tone 19-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, vertically positioned LED tail lamps, a muscular rear bumper and an electric tailgate.
Kia Sorento: Interior and Features
Inside, the Sorento will feature a black-and-beige cabin. Equipment is expected to include a new Kia steering wheel, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 12-speaker Bose sound system and a colour head-up display.
The SUV will also get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a similarly sized digital driver display. Other features include a wireless phone charger, remote engine start, ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function.
The centre console gets rotary controls for various functions along with a dedicated EV mode button.
Kia Sorento: Engine and Hybrid Powertrain
The Sorento will be available with both petrol-hybrid and diesel engine options. The petrol-hybrid version will use a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a strong-hybrid system.
The SUV will also be offered with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, the same unit used in the Kia Carnival. It produces 202bhp and 440Nm and is expected to be paired with an automatic gearbox.
One of the key highlights of the Sorento will be its all-wheel-drive system. Kia is expected to position it as the first hybrid SUV in India to offer AWD.
Kia Sorento Rivals In India
The seven-seat Kia Sorento will compete in the premium three-row SUV segment against models such as the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron. Kia is expected to announce the SUV's pricing at the time of its September 4 launch.
