KTM 390 Duke, 390 Adventure X Prices Hiked by up to Rs 40,000: Details
Bajaj owned Austrian automaker KTM has increased prices of the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure X motorcycles in India. Following the revision of GST rates in the country last year KTM absorbed the price hike implemented on two-wheelers over 350cc, however it seems now the company is passing on the impact of higher taxation to the customers.
KTM has increased the price of the 390 Duke in India. The 390 Duke is now priced at Rs 3.39 lakh. This indicates a Rs 40,000 increase over its earlier price of Rs 2.99 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). Last year, the pricing had remained unchanged despite the implementation of the 40 percent GST slab.
The KTM 390 Adventure X has also received a price hike and it is now priced at Rs 3.43 lakh up by Rs 17,000 from its previous Rs 3.26 lakh price (both prices are ex-showroom). Since its initial launch at Rs 2.91 lakh, the Adventure X has seen a cumulative increase of around Rs 52,000, attributed to both feature additions and tax-related changes.
Following this price hike, the ex-showroom price difference between the 390 Duke and the 250 Duke has increased to about Rs 1.22 lakh. This realignment also creates space within KTM’s portfolio for upcoming motorcycles in the sub-350cc category.
Multiple media reports also state that KTM is working on new models with engine capacities below 350cc. These models are expected to benefit from the lower tax rates. However it is not clear if KTM will continue to offer the 390 range after the development of the new 350 lineup.
