KTM RC 160 Price Hiked by Rs 15,000 in India, Now Costs Rs 2 Lakh

KTM India has increased the price of the RC 160 by Rs 15,000, taking the motorcycle’s ex-showroom price to Rs 2 lakh. The price revision comes several months after the fully faired motorcycle was introduced in India and brings it significantly closer to the more powerful RC 200.
With the latest price revision, KTM’s entry-level fully faired motorcycle now crosses the Rs 2 lakh mark, making the pricing gap with both the RC 200 and Yamaha R15 V4 an important factor for buyers considering a 160cc sportsbike.

KTM RC 160 Price: Rs 2 Lakh

The KTM RC 160 was launched in India at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom) earlier this year. Following the latest revision, buyers now have to pay Rs 2 lakh for the entry-level RC model. The price increase also puts the RC 160 close to the top-spec Yamaha R15 V4, which is priced at around Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The Rs 15,000 price hike has changed the positioning of the RC 160 within KTM’s lineup. The motorcycle now costs only around Rs 32,000 less than the RC 200, which continues to be priced at Rs 2.32 lakh (ex-showroom).
This relatively narrow price gap could make the RC 200 an alternative for buyers looking for more performance. The RC 200 comes with a larger-capacity engine while retaining the fully faired design and sport-focused chassis associated with the RC range.
The price revision also brings the RC 160 close to the Yamaha R15 V4. The latter's higher-spec version is priced at around Rs 1.98 lakh and offers equipment including a TFT instrument display, traction control and a quickshifter.

KTM RC 160: Powertrain

The KTM RC 160 is powered by a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine. The motor produces 18.73bhp and 15.5Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch.
The RC 160 uses a trellis frame and gets 37mm inverted front forks at the front, while suspension duties at the rear are handled by a preload-adjustable monoshock.

KTM RC 160: Braking & Features

Braking hardware includes a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. The motorcycle gets full-LED lighting, including the headlamp, tail lamp and indicators. It also features an LCD instrument cluster and clip-on handlebars. A 13.75-litre metal fuel tank is another key component of the motorcycle. The riding position is designed around the sportbike format, with committed ergonomics compared with KTM’s naked motorcycles.
