Maruti Suzuki to Increase Car Prices by Up to Rs 30,000 From August 2026: Second Hike in Two Months
Specific model-wise price adjustments will be announced closer to the implementation date. This trend reflects a broader industry pattern, with various automakers facing similar challenges in the current market.

Buying a new Maruti Suzuki car is set to become more expensive once again. The country's largest carmaker has announced a fresh price hike of up to Rs 30,000 across its model range, with the revised prices coming into effect from August 2026. This marks the company's second price increase in a short span, following a similar hike of up to Rs 30,000 that was implemented in June this year.
Key Highlights:
- Maruti Suzuki to increase prices by up to Rs 30,000 from August 2026
- This is the second price hike by the company in just two months
- Rising commodity prices and higher input costs cited as the main reasons
- Model-wise price revision will be announced closer to the implementation date
Rising Costs Behind the Latest Price Revision
In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki said the latest price revision has been driven by continued commodity inflation and rising input costs. The company said it had made efforts to offset these higher expenses through cost-control measures and operational efficiencies.
However, due to sustained pressure on operating margins, the automaker said it has decided to pass on a part of the increased costs to customers.
Second Price Hike in Just Two Months
The latest announcement comes soon after Maruti Suzuki raised prices across its portfolio in June, when it had also blamed increasing input costs and inflationary pressures for the revision.
With the August increase, the company joins several other automakers that have recently revised prices amid higher raw material costs and supply chain pressures.
Model-Wise Price Increase Yet to be Announced
Maruti Suzuki has not revealed the revised prices for individual models or variants. The company said the exact increase will differ depending on the model and variant, with detailed pricing to be announced closer to the implementation date.
The move follows a wider industry trend, with carmakers such as Mahindra, BYD and Tata Motors also announcing price hikes in recent weeks as manufacturers continue to deal with volatile commodity prices and rising production costs.
The regulatory filing was signed by Sanjeev Grover, Executive Officer and Company Secretary of Maruti Suzuki.
