Mini Cooper S Convertible Launched in India at Rs 58.50 Lakh

British legacy automaker, Mini on Friday launched the Mini Cooper S Convertible at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 58.50 lakh. The open top Mini will be available in India as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

Mini Cooper S Convertible: Design

The exterior design of the Mini Convertible has classic characteristics from the brand. The front end boasts quintessential Mini face with its round headlights and a newly-designed front grille. In addition to that, the standard LED headlights have three light signatures to along with a welcome and goodbye animation with the company logo projections on the sides.

On the side, the sporty lines create a contrast along with the short overhangs and long proportions. Additionally, the convertible car is available with aerodynamically optimized 18-inch wheels with a choice of slide spoke two-tone and flash spoke two-tone alloys. The rear view is characterised by the design of the vertically aligned LED rear lights.

The Mini Convertible will be available in four striking colours - British Racing Green, Chili Red, Sunny Side Yellow and Ocean Wave Green. The black soft top protects the occupants in all weather conditions. The electrically folding soft top can be fully opened in 18 seconds, even at speeds of up to 30 kmph. At the same time, the window bars and side windows are lowered to provide a completely unobstructed view of the surroundings. The soft top closes in 15 seconds at the touch of a button. It can also be partially opened to act as a sunroof, to a length of 40 centimetres, regardless of speed. The Mini Convertible has a boot space of 160 litres and it expands to 215 litres.

Mini Cooper S Convertible: Interior

The round high resolution OLED display is one of the focal points in Mini Convertible’s interior. The Mini Convertible uses Mini Operating System 9, along with Mini Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA) which can be activated by saying ‘Hey Mini’ to control functions such as navigation, telephony, entertainment and others. Other features include Remote Services, Remote Software Upgrades, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Teleservices, In-Car Weather and Intelligent Emergency Call.

Mini Experience Modes extend the indoor experience by tuning the light, sound and graphics settings. A distinctive Toggle Bar Island gives access to the important driving functions including start/stop, gear selector, parking brake, experience modes and volume control. Mini Cooper S Convertible: Engine

The Mini Cooper S Convertible is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 201 bhp at 6,500 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 300 Nm at 4500 rpm, paired with a seven-speed double clutch steptronic sport transmission. The car sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 240 kmph.

Furthermore, the convertible Mini features an advanced assistance systems such as cruise control and parking assistant increase comfort, control and safety. The standard safety equipment comprises of front passenger airbags and side curtain airbags, brake assist, three-point seat belts, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control, rear-view camera, and tubeless tyre with tyre pressure indicator.

The car comes with a standard two-year warranty for unlimited kilometres. The two years 24x7 road-side assistance on the Mini Convertible provides complete peace of mind. Service inclusive plan starts from 3 years, or 40,000 km and package extension is available up to 10 years or 1,00,000 km. An option to extend warranty benefits from third year ownership and extendable up to maximum ten years, is also available.
