British legacy automaker, Mini, which is now owned by the BMW Group has launched the JCW Countryman All4 in India. This marks the first petrol-powered Countryman launched in the country. Not only that, but it also marks the first performance SUV from the automaker in India. However, the Mini JCW Countryman All4 will have to compete against the Range Rover Evoque, one of the most popular SUVs in India. Here’s how the two SUVs fare against each other:

Mini JCW Countryman All4 vs Range Rover Evoque: Engine

The Mini JCW Countryman All4 is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine, churning out 296 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Mini JCW Countryman All4 comes with only one powertrain option. The Range Rover Evoque, on the other hand, comes with two powertrain options: a 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine and a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. Both engines of the Range Rover Evoque have a mild hybrid system. The former produces 201 bhp and 430 Nm of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the latter produces 246.7 bhp and 365 Nm of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mini JCW Countryman All4 vs Range Rover Evoque: Dimensions

The Mini JCW Countryman All4 has the dimensions of 4,447 mm in length x 1,843mm in width x 1,645 mm in height. In contrast, the Range Rover Evoque boasts dimensions of 4,371 mm in length x 1,996 in width x 1,649 mm in height. The former has a wheelbase of approximately 2,690 mm while the latter has a wheelbase of approximately 2,681 mm.

The Mini JCW Countryman All4 is equipped with features including black upholstery with red stitching and ambient lighting, a circular 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen running the Mini OS9 interface, integrating media, navigation and vehicle controls. In addition to that, the JCW Countryman boasts sport seats with electric adjustment, aluminium paddles and a steering wheel finished in JCW trim. Some key features of the JCW Countryman All4 include a Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic glass roof, wireless charger, head-up display, powered tailgate and automatic climate control.

The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography is equipped with heated and cooled front seats along with heated rear seats, 14-way electrically adjustable front seats with rich Shadow Grey Ash veneer, an electrically adjustable steering column as well as a ClearSight interior rear-view mirror. Moreover, the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography boasts configurable cabin lighting, two-zone climate control and a luxurious full extended leather upgrade and suede cloth headlining.

In addition to that, the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography’s sound and music responsibilities are shouldered by the Meridian Surround Sound System. The high-resolution 28.9 cm (11.4) touchscreen is powered by the intuitive Pivi Pro (Connected) infotainment system. Additionally, the car gets an interactive driver display and a Power Socket Pack 2, along with wireless device charging. Meanwhile, features like intrusion sensor, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), locking wheel nuts, cruise control with speed limiter, Driver Condition Monitor, and front and rear parking aids are a few safety features which the new Range Rover Evoque Autobiography boasts.

The Mini JCW Countryman All4 has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 64.85 lakh, while the Range Rover Evoque has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 64.90 lakh.
