New-Gen Toyota Hilux India Launch on July 28: New Design, More Features, ADAS on Cards

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially confirmed that the new-generation Toyota Hilux will make its India debut on 28 July 2026. The lifestyle pickup truck is set to receive its first major update in the country, bringing a refreshed design, a more premium cabin and additional technology, while retaining its proven off-road capabilities.
Key Highlights:
  • Toyota will launch the new-generation Hilux in India on 28 July 2026.
  • The updated pickup will feature a new exterior design and a significantly upgraded cabin.
  • It is expected to retain the 2.8-litre diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.
  • Higher variants could get an enhanced ADAS package along with new premium features.
The updated Hilux is expected to offer a better balance between rugged performance and everyday comfort, making it more appealing to both adventure enthusiasts and urban buyers.

New-Gen Toyota Hilux: Exterior Design

The biggest visual changes are expected at the front. The new Hilux is likely to feature a larger grille, slimmer LED headlamps and a redesigned front bumper, giving it a more aggressive and modern appearance.
While the overall silhouette will remain familiar, Toyota is also expected to introduce new alloy wheel designs and subtle styling revisions at the rear to keep the pickup looking fresh.

New-Gen Toyota Hilux: Interior Design

Inside, the 2026 Hilux is expected to receive a significantly more modern interior. Toyota is likely to introduce a redesigned dashboard along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Other expected features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging and a 360-degree camera. These additions should make the cabin feel more premium and improve overall convenience.

New-Gen Toyota Hilux: Engine and Powertrain

Mechanically, the new Hilux is not expected to receive major changes. It will likely continue with the familiar 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine, available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota is also expected to retain the four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer case, ensuring that the Hilux continues to offer strong off-road performance.

New-Gen Toyota Hilux: Safety

Toyota is expected to strengthen the Hilux's safety package with additional driver assistance features. Standard safety equipment is likely to include six airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Assist Control and Downhill Assist Control.
Higher variants could also receive an expanded ADAS suite featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

New-Gen Toyota Hilux: Expected Price

The current Toyota Hilux is priced from Rs. 30.40 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of new features, updated styling and improved safety technology, the 2026 Hilux is expected to command a slight premium when Toyota announces prices at its launch on 28 July 2026.
