New Lexus ES India Launch on March 20: Here's What to Expect

Lexus India is set to launch the new-generation ES sedan in the country on March 20th 2026. The updated model will bring changes to design, interior layout and features, while continuing with a hybrid powertrain for the Indian market.

The ES will continue as the entry-level sedan for Lexus in India and will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and others.

The new ES moves away from the design seen on the outgoing model. At the front, the spindle grille has been replaced with a cleaner fascia featuring a smaller air intake positioned at the lower section of the bumper.

A key highlight is the Z-shaped LED daytime running lights that integrate the turn indicators. The main headlamp units are placed lower and are partially hidden behind vertical gloss-black elements. The bumper also features diamond-pattern detailing.

In profile, the sedan adopts a sloping roofline, giving it a coupe-like silhouette. A strong shoulder line runs across the body and is accentuated by gloss-black trim. Lexus has also introduced new alloy wheel designs.

At the rear, the ES gets a full-width LED light bar with illuminated “LEXUS” lettering, along with L-shaped chrome-accented elements below it.

The new-generation ES is also larger than before, with increases in overall length, width and wheelbase, indicating more cabin space. Inside, the layout shifts to a cleaner design with fewer physical controls.

In terms of features it is expected to get a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and integrates several vehicle functions. It is also likely to get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, steering wheel controls, Mark Levinson audio system, 3-zone climate control, reclining rear seats with boss mode, powered front seats with memory function, a panoramic glass roof with electrochromic function and more.

The new ES is expected to come equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ suite, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and other driver assistance systems.

For India, Lexus is expected to continue offering the ES with a hybrid powertrain similar to the current Lexus ES 300h. This setup uses a 2.5L petrol engine paired with an electric motor and is mated to an e-CVT gearbox driving the front wheels. The current ES 300h produces around 198bhp, and a similar output is expected in the updated model.

The outgoing ES is priced from Rs 62.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The new-generation model is expected to be priced higher, with an estimated starting price of around Rs 65 lakh.
