Porsche Cayenne Electric Launched in India at Rs 1.76 Crore

Porsche has launched the all-electric Cayenne range in India with two variants. The SUV delivers high output figures, fast charging capability and a new digital-first interior. The company says both models offer significant performance gains and expanded cabin space compared to the combustion version.

Porsche launched the Cayenne Electric lineup in India with two models: the standard Cayenne Electric priced at Rs 1.76 crore (ex-showroom) and the Cayenne Turbo Electric at Rs 2.26 crore (ex-showroom). The launch took place in India in 2025. Both versions feature all-wheel drive through Porsche’s electronic traction management system.

Both electric models use a newly developed motor system. The Cayenne Turbo produces up to 1140 bhp and 1,500 Nm when Launch Control is active. Porsche claims that the turbo model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 200 kmph in 7.4 seconds, with a top speed of 260 kmph.

The standard Cayenne Electric delivers 402 bhp in regular driving and up to 435.8 bhp with Launch Control, along with 835 Nm of torque. It completes the 0 to 100 kmph run in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph.

The Cayenne Turbo also includes direct oil cooling for the rear electric motor, a feature derived from motorsport applications to maintain consistent output. Porsche positions the Turbo as the most powerful production model it has built so far, while noting that it remains slower than the Taycan Turbo GT and 911 Turbo S.

A 113 kWh high-voltage battery powers both versions. Due to its dual-sided cooling system, the Cayenne Electric offers a WLTP range of up to 642 km, while the Turbo variant delivers up to 623 km.

The SUV uses 800-volt architecture with DC fast charging of up to 390 kW and, under certain conditions, up to 400 kW. The company claims a 10–80% charge in under 16 minutes and the ability to add more than 300 km of driving range in around 10 minutes.

The Cayenne Electric is also Porsche’s first model to support optional inductive charging at up to 11 kW using a floor-mounted charging plate.

The Cayenne Electric retains Porsche’s familiar SUV proportions while introducing redesigned lighting and a longer body. It measures 4,985 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,674 mm in height. The wheelbase is 3,023 mm, which is almost 13 cm longer than the combustion version, improving rear passenger space. Cargo capacity ranges from 781 to 1,588 litres, along with a 90-litre front storage compartment. Depending on the configuration, the SUV can tow up to 3.5 tonnes.

The cabin uses Porsche’s updated digital layout centred around the new Flow Display, a curved OLED panel integrated into the dashboard. A fully digital instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display extend the total screen area. A head-up display with augmented reality is also offered for the first time on this model.

Despite the digital focus, physical controls remain for essential functions. An integrated hand rest helps with operation of both digital and analogue elements while driving.

New “Mood Modes” adjust seat position, lighting, sound and climate settings based on the selected programme. A panoramic roof with variable light control and new panel heating extending warmth to armrests and door surfaces - are available as part of the equipment list. Ambient lighting also includes a communication light that shows vehicle states such as charging progress.

Rear seats are electrically adjustable and the increased wheelbase adds more legroom. Buyers can choose from a wide range of colours, interior setups and customisation options, including Porsche’s Paint to Sample and Sonderwunsch one-off programmes.
