Between February and July, Honda produced 11,168 units of both models combined. However, only 5,201 units were dispatched to dealers during the same period, leaving a large volume of unsold stock. This mismatch may explain why no new units were built in the following months.
Sales Skewed Toward the QC1
Sales figures show a wide gap between the two models. The QC1 accounted for 86 percent of Honda’s EV sales, with 4,252 units sold. The Activa e: registered only 698 units. The QC1’s fixed battery and home-charging option likely helped its demand. In contrast, the Activa e: relies entirely on Honda’s swappable battery network.
Limited Availability and Charging Network
The Activa e: is sold in only three cities: Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi, where Honda operates its battery-swapping system. Meanwhile, the QC1 is available in six cities, including Hyderabad, Pune and Chandigarh.
Both models face strong competition from other electric scooters that offer a higher range or performance in a similar price range. These market factors also appear to be influencing sales.
