Visually, the Katana Limited Edition retains the same design and bodywork as the standard bike but features a different finish. The motorcycle comes with silver bodywork combined with bronze-painted alloy wheels. The tail section is finished in black and carries a silver ‘Katana’ graphic, while the fairing features dark grey graphics. The fuel tank also gets a black ‘Suzuki’ logo along with a numbered sticker indicating the individual unit within the 45-bike production run.
Additional elements include a carbon-look tank pad and frame sliders. Suzuki has also added a black and silver decal package aimed at highlighting the Katana’s sharp body lines.
Buyers of the limited-run model will receive a few accessories with the motorcycle. These include a Katana-branded garage mat and a book documenting the history of the Katana, tracing the model’s development from its original launch in 1981 to the current version.
Mechanically, the only change on the Katana Limited Edition is the addition of a road-legal Akrapovič slip-on exhaust. While it alters the exhaust note, the performance figures remain unchanged.
The motorcycle continues to be powered by the same 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine derived from the GSX-R1000. The engine produces around 150.19bhp and 106Nm of torque. It also gets ride-by-wire throttle.
The electronics suite includes three riding modes, a multi-level traction control system and a bidirectional quickshifter. The chassis setup remains unchanged as well, with an aluminium frame, KYB suspension and Brembo brakes. The motorcycle also features full LED lighting and an LCD instrument display.
