Ultraviolette Shockwave Electric Motorcycle to Launch in Q1 2027 with New 100V Architecture

Ultraviolette is set to introduce its new Shockwave electric motorcycle in India during the first quarter of 2027, featuring a newly developed 100V electrical architecture. This lightweight motorcycle will be available in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations.

Ultraviolette is preparing to add another motorcycle to its electric two-wheeler range. The Bengaluru-based EV maker has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave motorcycle will launch in the first quarter of 2027 and will use the company’s newly developed 100V electrical architecture.

The company says the new architecture is expected to support stronger power delivery, improved thermal efficiency and faster charging. The Shockwave is being developed as a lightweight motorcycle focused on riding dynamics and is positioned differently from Ultraviolette’s other upcoming products.

The move to a 100V architecture is part of Ultraviolette’s broader development of its electric vehicle technology. The company had earlier announced that its upcoming Tesseract electric motorcycle would also use the same architecture.

While Ultraviolette has not revealed the complete specifications of the Shockwave yet, the company says the platform is designed to improve power and thermal management. Charging performance is also expected to benefit from the higher-voltage system.

The Shockwave, also referred to as the FUNDURO, draws inspiration from the character of lightweight, performance-focused motorcycles. Ultraviolette describes it as a motorcycle designed around the enjoyment of riding rather than being positioned solely as a practical electric commuter.

Shockwave to Be Offered in Two Configurations

Ultraviolette has confirmed that the Shockwave will be available in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations. The company has not yet revealed whether the two versions will have any differences in equipment or performance.

Production preparations have already started, with Ultraviolette setting up a dedicated production line for the motorcycle at its existing manufacturing facility.

Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, said the Shockwave was envisioned to bring back the enjoyment associated with riding motorcycles. “Bringing our 100V architecture to the Shockwave is an important step in realising that vision,” he said.

Final Specifications to Be Revealed Later

The Shockwave and Tesseract have been under parallel development for the past year, according to the company. Ultraviolette says work is already underway to prepare the Shockwave’s production line. The company is expected to reveal details such as battery capacity, range, motor output, charging time, dimensions and pricing closer to the motorcycle’s launch in Q1 2027.
