Mahindra Group-owned British motorcycle manufacturer BSA has revealed a brand-new 650cc scrambler motorcycle called the B65 Scrambler at the ongoing Motorcycle Live 2024 in Birmingham. The B65 Scrambler makes use of the same 650cc engine as the BSA Goldstar 650 currently on sale in India, but gets a range of changes to justify the scrambler in its name.

BSA B65 Scrambler: Engine, Specs

For starters, the BSA B65 Scrambler's 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine puts out 45bhp of maximum power at 6,500rpm, along with 55Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The torque is delivered slightly lower down in the rev range as compared to the Goldstar 650, while the overall output remains unchanged. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

BSA B65 Scrambler: Design, Hardware, Features

The BSA B65 Scrambler gets a range of blacked-out elements as opposed to the chrome-laden Goldstar 650. It gets an LED headlamp, a raised mudguard, a single-piece seat, and a '65' plate mounted on the side panels. The rear section has been kept rather clean with a small, round tail lamp and rear mudguard-mounted rear indicators. The bike is shod on Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR knobbly tyres, 110/80-19 front and 150/70-R17 rear with spoke wheels.
The suspension setup consists of 41mm telescopic forks at the front, coupled with twin shock absorbers at the rear with 5-step adjustable preload. The B65 Scrambler has a 12-litre fuel capacity, and tips the scale at 218kg. Braking is taken care of Brembo-branded single 320mm disc at the front and a 255mm single disc at the back. It gets a rather simple digi-analogue instrument cluster

BSA B65 Scrambler: India Launch, Expected Price

The BSA B65 Scrambler is set to arrive in the UK next year, while an India launch could take place soon after. The scrambler motorcycle will directly rival the newly launched Royal Enfield Bear 650 upon arrival. The RE scrambler is priced from Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), while the BSA B65 might undercut it considering that the latter will offer a single-cylinder engine and slightly lesser equipment.
