Bentley announced an expansion of its plug-in hybrid range by introducing a new High Performance Hybrid powertrain across its Continental GT, GT Convertible (GTC) and Flying Spur models. The move follows the 2024 launch of the Ultra Performance Hybrid in the Speed and Mulliner variants and marks a continued shift toward electrified V8 engines for the brand. The new Continental GT is now open for orders. Pricing begins at £202,400 in the UK, €210,924 pre-tax in Europe, and $265,900 in the US.
Powertrain and Performance Figures
The new 4.0L V8 plug-in hybrid system puts out a combined output of 670.6 bhp and 930 Nm of peak torque. The Continental GT can accelerate from stationery to 100 kmph in 3.7 seconds, while the GT Convertible takes 3.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kmph. Both models offer electric-only ranges of up to 85 km for the GT and 82 km for the GTC. The new Flying Spur also uses this hybrid powertrain, offering similar performance and an electric only driving range of 80 km.
Variants and Specifications
Each model is available in core and Azure variants. The Azure trim focuses on comfort and driver assistance features. All models are equipped with Bentley Active Chassis technology, including Dynamic Ride, Rear Wheel Steering and electronic limited-slip differential, with multiple drive modes.
Interior and Exterior Changes
Design elements for the new Continental GT and GTC include a black grille with chrome surround, black bumper grilles and chrome tailpipe finishers. The Flying Spur receives similar exterior changes. Inside, all models feature hand-crafted interiors with a choice of bright or dark chrome detailing, fluted seating and dedicated treadplates. Azure variants include Wellness seating, massage functions and additional comfort packages.
Electrified V8-Only Line-Up
Bentley has now fully transitioned its Continental and Flying Spur models to electrified V8 powertrains. The new High Performance Hybrid replaces the W12 Speed of the previous generation, offering improved figures in power, torque and emissions. CO₂ emissions are as low as 29 g/km for the GT and 31 g/km for the GTC.
