296 Speciale Piloti Edition
Ferrari has revealed a new Piloti Ferrari configuration of its 296 Speciale model, reserved only for its client racing drivers. The model was introduced during the build-up to the 2025 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe.
The limited configuration takes design and technical cues from Ferrari’s 499P, the Hypercar that secured overall victories at Le Mans in both 2023 and 2024.

Configuration Based on the 499P
The Piloti Ferrari version of the 296 Speciale is inspired by the 499P Hypercar. The 499P features a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, double wishbone suspension, and a hybrid powertrain. It uses a 3L twin-turbo V6 engine combined with a front-mounted electric motor to produce around 670 bhp, with all-wheel drive engaging above 190 kmph. The car played a central role in Ferrari’s return to top-tier endurance racing after five decades.

Special Livery and Custom Features
The Piloti Ferrari configuration is offered in four exterior colours: Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Argento Nürburgring. The paint scheme includes endurance racing elements such as a hand-painted FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) logo, the Italian flag on the front and a number selected by the client. The car presented at Le Mans featured the number 51, referencing Ferrari’s 2023 win.
Interior details include black Alcantara racing seats with inserts made from the same fireproof material used in official driver suits. The car’s number is also displayed inside on the carbon-fibre panels and further customization is available for components like the metal footwell and door sill. Each unit includes a carbon identification plaque.
Technical Changes in 296 Speciale
The 296 Speciale is based on the 296 GTB but includes updates focused on track performance. It features a plug-in hybrid setup with a twin-turbo V6 engine and electric motor delivering 868 bhp. The engine and transmission have been revised, including lighter parts and new software strategies to enhance torque delivery and gear shifts.
The car’s chassis has also been updated, and weight has been reduced. Aerodynamic elements such as a larger diffuser, suspended front splitters and rear wings are designed to improve handling at high speeds.
Tailor Made Programme
The Piloti Ferrari configuration is part of the company’s Tailor Made programme, which allows select clients to personalize their vehicles. This programme includes three core themes: Classica, Inedita and Scuderia, offering different levels and types of customization.
