Maserati Opens Officine Fuoriserie For Custom Vehicle Production

Maserati has opened Officine Fuoriserie, a dedicated space for vehicle customisation at its historic plant in Modena. This facility allows customers to personalise their cars through the Fuoriserie programme, which offers various levels of customisation, including pre-set collections and bespoke designs.

Maserati Fuoriserie Programme

The Fuoriserie programme provides customers with the option to modify body colours, interior materials and other features. It includes two primary collections: Fuoriserie Corse, inspired by Maserati’s racing heritage, and Fuoriserie Futura, focused on modern materials and design. Customers can also opt for fully bespoke modifications to create one-of-a-kind models.

New Paint Facility and Customisation Process

The Officine Fuoriserie includes a new paint area with advanced technology, allowing a wide range of colour and finish options. The process begins in the showroom, where customers work with Maserati designers to select customisation elements. Cars then go through manual and automated painting stages before final detailing. The facility covers 4,000 square metres and can produce up to 24 customised vehicles per day.

To mark the opening of Officine Fuoriserie, Maserati unveiled the MC20 Cielo “Less is More…?”, a one-off model designed through the Bespoke programme. The car features a unique livery inspired by the Bauhaus movement, with geometric patterns and a mix of colours from Maserati’s history. The design incorporates various shades and symbolic elements linked to the brand’s racing past.

Workforce and Production Capacity

The new facility aims to involve up to 110 workers, with 40 already trained in vehicle customisation. The paint shop can handle 24 cars per day, offering a wide selection of colours and finishes.
Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO, said, “Maserati is synonymous with Italian luxury around the world and celebrating this concept at the highest level means putting the customer's desires first in everything we do, especially in the creation of exclusive cars through the Fuoriserie programme. The attention to detail and needs of those who decide to buy a Maserati is what distinguishes us: with the new Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, we offer an additional tailor-made experience, a new chapter in our brand’s history to celebrate our tradition of excellence in artisanship and innovation”.
