Octavia 4x4 Introduced with 2.0 TSI Engine

Skoda has updated the Octavia lineup, adding an all-wheel drive (AWD) option for both the hatchback and estate variants. The Octavia 4×4 is powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine that puts out 201.2 bhp, which is 13.8 bhp more than the previous version and a peak torque of 320 Nm mated to a 7 speed DSG automatic transmission. The updated powertrain includes high-pressure fuel injection and variable valve lift to optimize fuel efficiency.

Performance and Speed Figures

Company claims that the Octavia 4×4 hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds on the other hand the estate version takes 6.7 seconds. Both variants have a top speed of 228 kmph.

All-Wheel Drive System for Better Traction

The AWD system uses an electrohydraulically controlled inter-axle multi-plate clutch to manage power distribution. Sensors monitor road conditions, allowing the system to adjust torque distribution. Under ideal conditions, up to 100% of torque can be directed to the rear axle. The system also includes electronic controls such as EDS and XDS to improve stability and handling. The multi-link rear axle enhances control and ride quality, while the AWD system increases towing capacity to 1,900 kg with a braked trailer.
