Volvo Cars is gearing up to introduce the XC70, its first extended-range plug-in hybrid. The upcoming mid-size SUV is designed to travel up to 200 kilometres on electric power alone, the longest electric range of any Volvo hybrid so far. Further specifications for the XC70 will be released closer to launch.
The Volvo XC70 is built on their new SMA platform, developed to support extended-range plug-in hybrids. This platform combines fast charging capabilities with a combustion engine for longer distance travel.

Volvo XC70: Targeted Launch in China

The vehicle will initially be available for order in China later in 2025. Volvo is considering other markets for future availability but has not confirmed specific countries or dates.

Volvo XC70: Dual Power for Flexible Travel

The extended electric range is expected to cover most daily travel without using fuel, while the combustion engine ensures the ability to take longer trips without charging. The goal is to reduce fuel usage while maintaining flexibility.
