Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, flagged off 10 electric buses in a formal event. The buses have been introduced through a partnership between Chartered Speed and the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS).

Deployment in Three Cities

The buses, each 9 meters long and fitted with air conditioning, have been introduced in Itanagar, Namsai and Pasighat. The deployment is part of a plan to shift to electric transport in public mobility.

Charging Infrastructure Installed

Chartered Speed has set up EV charging stations at selected locations in the three cities. These are intended to support regular operations and reduce service gaps.

Shift to Electric Fleet

The company is replacing internal combustion engine vehicles with electric ones. Chartered Speed currently runs more than 1,800 buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Assam.

New Contract for Electric Buses

Chartered Speed has also received a contract from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses in 13 cities across three states.
Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed, said, “At Chartered Speed, we believe that sustainable mobility should not be limited by geography. Our association with APSTS and the deployment of electric buses reflect our commitment to building a cleaner, more connected future where even the most remote regions benefit from modern, eco-friendly transportation solutions. This initiative marks a meaningful step forward in accelerating India’s green mobility transition and creating future-ready transport ecosystems.”
