General Motors Collaborates With ChargePoint To Set Up 500 EV Fast Chargers By 2025

American automaker General Motors popularly known as GM has announced that it is collaborating with EV solution provider, ChargePoint to set up up to 500 EV fast charging ports across the US. The charging ports are expected to be operational and accessible to the public by the end of 2025. This initiative focuses on expanding the EV charging network across the country within the specified timeline.

The project will use ChargePoint’s Omni Port system, which supports both CCS and NACS charging standards, enabling vehicles to charge without requiring adapters or specific parking arrangements. The charging stations will include ports capable of charging at speeds of up to 500 kW, utilizing ChargePoint's Express Plus platform.

The collaboration includes an incentive program aimed at enabling third-party charge point operators (CPOs) to establish and manage the required infrastructure for DC fast charging. The stations will be branded under GM Energy and will be installed at various locations to support the availability of EV charging facilities.
