Jaguar has finally revealed the Type 00 EV concept, revealing what's to come from the brand as it shifts towards a new identity. Jagaur had recently revealed its new logo and branding identity, announcing a massive shift from the traditional branding that the Tata Group-owned luxury British carmaker was previously known for. The carmaker is going electric-only, with plans to rebrand itself as a more upmarket brand to rival high-end luxury carmakers like Bentley and Rolls-Royce, instead of Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW.
The Type 00 concept is essentially a two-door coupe, and gets horizontal LED DRLs, horizontal lines with the new Jaguar letter mark emblem instead of a conventional grille, large, accentuated wheel arches with 23-inch alloy wheels and a sloping fastback roofline. At the back too, it gets horizontal lines with tail lamps neatly integrated on the bottom- and top-most lines.
Interior shots reveal a cockpit-like layout, divided into two parts with screens that deploy when needed. The concept EV gets a three-spoke steering-wheel with a flat top and bottom. Jaguar has revealed that the production version will be a four-door GT that will be revealed late next year. It will be built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) dedicated EV platform and offer a WLTP range of up to 770 km, adding 321 km of charge in 15 minutes of charging.
