Matter, an electric mobility startup based out of Ahmedabad, India, has launched a limited-time vehicle exchange program called “Mission Xchange” to mark World Environment Day on June 5, 2025. The initiative invites owners of petrol and diesel vehicles to exchange them for the company’s electric motorcycle, AERA, as part of a broader effort to support cleaner transportation alternatives.
One-Day Exchange Initiative
As part of the initiative, Matter is offering a one-day vehicle exchange program. On June 5, 2025, owners of petrol and diesel two-wheelers or four-wheelers can check the exchange value of their vehicles by scanning a QR code or visiting Matter’s official website. The exchange and booking process is designed to be digital and completed on the same day.
Incentives and Support
Participants in the campaign will receive a Rs 5,000 exchange bonus and benefits worth Rs 10,000 covering insurance and registration. Matter is also offering delivery support through its Experience Hub. In addition, the AERA motorcycle will come with a lifetime battery warranty.
Mohal Lalbhai, Founder & CEO of Matter, said, “This isn’t just an exchange program—it’s a wake-up call. With Mission Xchange, we’re helping India shift from smoke to clean, from fossil-fueled to fully charged. With AERA, you don’t just ride electric—you ride the future.”
About the Matter AERA
The Matter AERA is equipped with a four-speed transmission and a liquid-cooled battery system. It has a certified range of 170 km per charge and features an onboard 5A charger compatible with standard wall sockets. A 7-inch touchscreen interface is included, supporting internet-connected functions such as navigation and calls.
Focus on Emission-Free Transport
The “Mission Xchange” campaign is part of Matter’s wider push toward reducing emissions and promoting clean transportation options in India. The campaign is positioned as a step toward sustainable urban mobility.
