2026 Kia Seltos Makes Global Debut in India: Exterior, Interior, Features, Powertrain Details Revealed

According to the company, the global production of the second-generation Seltos will commence in India from this month. This latest iteration of this SUV is based on Kia’s latest K3 platform and has been developed for multiple global markets. Kia has confirmed that pre-bookings for the new Seltos will open in India from tonight, while prices are scheduled to be announced on January 2nd 2026. The new Seltos will be manufactured at Kia’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh.

The new Seltos follows Kia’s current design language and it now features, revised front, side and rear profiles. The 2026 Seltos now measures 4,460 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and has a wheelbase spanning 2,690 mm.

At the front, the design draws cues from Kia’s latest global SUV models. The grille now spans most of the width of the fascia. The headlamps have a squarish layout with vertically aligned LED daytime running lights, along with an additional LED signature positioned at the outer edges. The lower bumper features black cladding with body-coloured inserts around the fog lamp housings.

From the side, the Seltos features sharper character lines, thicker cladding around the wheel arches, along the door sills, and newly added flush-fitting door handles. The window line continues to taper near the C-pillar, with a black trim element extending towards the rear glass to create a wraparound effect.

At the rear, the tailgate design is cleaner, with the number plate now mounted on the bumper. The most noticeable change is the inverted L-shaped LED tail-lamps, which runs across the width of the car. The SUV also gets a rear spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels with a geometric pattern design.

On the inside, the 2026 new Kia Seltos uses a horizontal dashboard layout with a focus on open space and visibility. The company states that headroom and legroom has been improved. Key cabin features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 64-color ambient lighting, reclining second-row seats and premium audio systems from Bose. The Kia Connect Store will support digital services and entertainment features.

The dashboard gets dual 12.3-inch screen setup for the digital instrument cluster and digital infotainment system, along with a separate climate control panel. Additionally, the new Seltos will support over-the-air (OTA) updates, smartphone-based Digital Key 2 access and a built-in AI assistant.

For the Indian market, Kia has retained the familiar engine lineup for the new-generation Seltos. The SUV will continue to be offered with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (113.4bhp and 144nm of torque), a 1.5L T-GDI turbo-petrol engine ( 157.8bhp and 253nm of torque) and a 1.5L diesel engine ( 114.4bhp and 250nm of torque). The New Kia Seltos is offered with multiple transmission options including: 6MT, 6iMT, IVT, 7DCT and 6AT

The new Seltos will be offered in eight variants: HTE, HTK, HTX, GTX, HTE (O), HTK (O), HTX (A) and GTX (A). In addition, Kia will offer an X-Line styling pack exclusively with the GTX and GTX (A) variants.

The X-Line styling pack includes front and rear skid plates with a black gloss finish, side door garnish with dark gunmetal accents, and a dual-tone interior finished in smoky black and hunter green with satin metal accents. It also comes with smoky black and hunter green leatherette seats, 18-inch black-painted alloy wheels, and two exclusive exterior colour options: Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl.

Kia has equipped the new Seltos with 24 standard safety features. These include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist and rear occupant alert. The SUV also gets Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 21 features such as forward collision warning, lane keep assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go function, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor and side parking sensors.
