Ducati Monster Design Patented in India, Launch Expected Soon

Ducati may soon launch the new-gen Monster in India, having filed a design patent for it. While the updated model is already available in international markets, Indian customers currently have access to the previous version, priced at Rs 13.84 lakh.

Ducati Monster Design Patented in India, Launch Expected Soon

Ducati could soon introduce the all-new Monster in the Indian market. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer has filed the design patent for the latest-generation Monster in India, indicating that its launch may not be far away. While the updated bike has already gone on sale in several international markets, Indian buyers are still offered the previous-generation Monster, which is priced at Rs 13.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key Highlights:
  • Ducati has filed the design patent for the new-generation Monster in India.
  • Updated Monster gets a fresh design with the iconic muscular fuel tank back.
  • Powered by Ducati's new 890cc V2 engine producing 111 PS and 91.1 Nm.
  • Expected to rival the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple 765 RS after launch.

Iconic Monster Styling Returns

One of the biggest highlights of the new Ducati Monster is its redesigned styling. Ducati has listened to customer feedback by bringing back the signature muscular fuel tank design that made the Monster one of the brand's most recognisable motorcycles.
The updated fuel tank also gets sculpted side vents inspired by the second-generation Monster, giving the bike a more aggressive and distinctive appearance. Overall, the new design blends modern styling with classic Monster DNA.

Ducati Monster: Engine Specs

The new Monster is powered by Ducati's latest 890cc V2 engine, which is shared with the Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2 and Multistrada V2.
The engine develops 111 PS at 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. It comes paired with a six-speed gearbox along with a standard bidirectional quickshifter for faster gear changes. Ducati has also equipped the engine with variable intake valve timing, helping improve torque delivery throughout the rev range.
Another significant update is the removal of Ducati's traditional Desmodromic valve system. This change allows valve clearance inspection intervals to be extended to 45,000 km, reducing maintenance requirements and making long-term ownership more convenient.

Ducati Monster: Features and Hardware

The updated Ducati Monster continues to use an aluminium monocoque frame paired with a lightweight subframe. Suspension duties are handled by Showa upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
Braking is managed by twin Brembo front callipers with 320mm dual front discs, while the motorcycle also gets a larger 5-inch TFT instrument console, replacing the older 4.2-inch display.

Ducati Monster: Expected Launch and Rivals

With Ducati steadily introducing its latest global motorcycles in India, the new Monster appears to be next in line. Although the company has not officially confirmed its launch timeline, the design patent filing indicates that an announcement could be made in the coming months.
Once launched in India, the new Ducati Monster is expected to compete with the Kawasaki Z900 and the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS in the premium naked motorcycle segment.
