Hyundai India Announces Price Hike of up to 1 Percent, Effective From May

The Indian division of the South Korean automaker Hyundai has recently made a regulatory filing which outlines that the automaker will be increasing the prices of its entire product portfolio in India from May 1st 2026. While many automakers in the country have already rolled out a price hike in the beginning of the current financial year (FY26-27), a price hike from Hyundai is set to come into effect from next month.
With this scheduled price hike Hyundai joins carmakers like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Tata Motors, MG Motor and Mahindra to announce a price hike this fiscal year. Maruti Suzuki on the other hand is also planning to roll out a price hike in the Indian market and that announcement is likely to follow soon.
Like most other manufacturers Hyundai too has cited rising input costs as the reason behind this price hike. Hyundai stated, “The Company has planned to increase the prices of its Cars up to 1% across the portfolio, effective May 2026. The price revision is attributed to a combination of various cost escalations. The quantum of increase will vary basis the variants and models. The Company’s endeavor is always to absorb rising costs to safeguard our customer from price fluctuations. However, the escalating input costs, have necessitated to pass on a part of this impact through a marginal price revision.”
Hyundai’s currently lineup in India includes models like - Grand i10 Nios, i20, i20 N Line, Aura , Verna, Creta Electric, Ioniq 5, Exter, Venue , Venue N Line, Creta, Creta N Line and Alcazar.
