2026 Renault Duster SUV India Launch Today: Here's What to Expect

Renault India is all set to launch the new-generation Duster SUV in India today. Renault had unveiled the Duster in the country earlier this year in January and bookings for the same are also underway for an amount of Rs 21,000. The Duster is scheduled to launch in India tomorrow, i.e. March 17th 2026. The Duster was discontinued in the Indian market in 2022 and it is ready to make its return in the market after a hiatus of about four years. The new Duster is based on a localised derivative of the CMF-B architecture, referred to as the Renault Group Modular Platform. The SUV will return to the midsize SUV segment where it will compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra and others.

At the time of unveiling the new Duster, Renault confirmed three engine options for the Indian market. The entry-level version will use a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 100bhp and 160Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a manual gearbox.

The second engine is the 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine producing 163bhp and 280 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual as well as a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The third option will be a strong-hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.8L petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. This hybrid system generates a peak power output of 160bhp. As revealed by the automaker this hybrid version will be introduced in India around the festive season later this year.

The India-spec Duster retains the upright stance of the global model with some changes to suit the local market. At the front, the SUV features eyebrow-style LED DRLs that double as turn indicators, a grille with ‘Duster’ lettering, and revised bumper detailing with silver accents. Pixel-style fog lamps will also be offered.

The side profile features black body cladding, roof rails and alloy wheels up to 18 inches. Renault claims a ground clearance of 212 mm along with approach and departure angles of 26.9 degrees and 34.7 degrees respectively.

At the rear, the SUV gets a connected LED light bar along with a revised tail-lamp design and a roof-mounted spoiler.

Inside, the new Duster adopts a dual-screen layout with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, powered tailgate and electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats.

Safety equipment will include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes and Level 2 ADAS with multiple driver assistance functions.

Renault is expected to launch the new Duster in India in an ex-showroom price range of Rs 11 to 22 lakh. Renault will reveal the prices for the turbo-petrol variants tomorrow with deliveries expected to commence from April 2026. The pricing of the hybrid version is expected to be revealed later this year around the festive season.
