Skoda India has recently released a short teaser of the Kushaq facelift, confirming that the compact SUV will receive a mid-life update. The Kushaq was first launched in 2021 and competes in a segment that includes the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Honda Elevate and Tata Sierra.

Exterior design changes
The teaser indicates small updates to the front and rear of the SUV. At the front, the facelifted Kushaq is expected to get revised headlights and daytime running lights connected by segmented lighting elements. Changes are also expected to the grille and front bumper, which now features a silver trim with a more angular layout.
At the rear, the traditional Skoda badge is replaced by an illuminated ‘SKODA’ wordmark, flanked by individual lighting elements. The brand logo continues to be placed on the bonnet.
Interior and feature updates
The interior has not been officially shown yet. However, based on test mule sightings and media reports, the Kushaq facelift is expected to receive additional features to match newer rivals. Higher variants are likely to offer a panoramic sunroof. Other expected updates include revised graphics for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, a rear-seat massage function, and rear disc brakes for the 1.5 TSI variants. Skoda is also expected to make changes to the air-conditioning system to improve overall performance.
ADAS and safety
The Kushaq facelift is expected to introduce Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Skoda has earlier stated that ADAS features will be gradually added to models based on the MQB-A0-IN platform during their lifecycle updates. A 360-degree camera is also expected to be included.
Engines and transmission options
The facelifted Kushaq is likely to continue with the existing engine options:
- 1.0L turbo-petrol producing 113.4bhp and 178Nm of torque
- 1.5L turbo-petrol producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque
Transmission options are also expected to remain unchanged, which includes a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0L engine and a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5L unit.
According to media reports, Skoda may introduce a new locally sourced 8-speed torque converter automatic for the 1.0-litre engine at a later stage. This unit could replace the current 6-speed automatic and is expected to help improve efficiency and support compliance with upcoming CAFE 3 regulations.
