Tata Motors Launches Ultra Prime, Starbus Prime Range at Prawaas 5.0

Tata Motors has unveiled its new Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime bus ranges at Prawaas 5.0. The automaker also showcased the LPO 1620 CNG for intercity operations and the Ultra Skool 9/9 EV electric bus.

The commercial vehicle division of the Indian automaker Tata Motors has expanded its commercial passenger vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime bus range at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar. At the event the Tata Motors also showcased a range of diesel, CNG and electric passenger mobility solutions designed for school, staff, tourism, intercity, intracity and last-mile transportation.

Tata Ultra Prime, Starbus Prime Range Launched

The newly introduced Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime buses have been developed for school transport, employee commute and tourism applications. They feature updated exterior styling, revised interiors, improved ride quality and lower noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels. Tata Motors has also equipped the buses with 29 safety features, including a Driver Monitoring System (DMS), 360-degree camera, Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and Rear Parking Assistance System (RPAS).

Other Vehicles Showcased by Tata Motors at Prawaas 5.0

At the event Tata Motors also showcased the LPO 1620 CNG, which is aimed at intercity and intracity passenger operations. According to the company, the CNG-powered bus combines higher passenger carrying capacity with lower operating costs while offering a cleaner alternative for mass transportation.
The company also showcased the Ultra Prime LPO 412, a premium platform developed for tourism and long-distance travel. It has been designed to offer improved passenger comfort for intercity operations.
As part of its electric mobility portfolio, Tata Motors showcased the Ultra Skool 9/9 EV electric school bus. It comes equipped with advanced safety features, fast-charging capability and an extended operating range. The bus also offers an optional paint scheme and interior graphics package intended to create a more comfortable travel environment for neurodivergent children.
Tata Motors also took the wraps off the Ultra Prime RE Concept in India for the first time. Designed for urban bus operations, the concept focuses on improving passenger comfort, operational reliability and fleet productivity.
The showcase further included the Magic EV, an electric last-mile passenger vehicle with a claimed range of up to 120 km on a single charge, and the Winger Plus, which has been positioned for staff transport, institutional use and tourism applications.
